 Why do you coach baseball?

I have a passion for teaching the game and I am very passionate and honoured to have the responsibility of leading our country in international play. Seeing individuals improve and reach their potential is extremely rewarding. I am also mindful of the opportunities that the BA program gave me as a player and I want to be able to give current generation athletes the same opportunities.

 Best baseball moment so far?

It is hard to choose between a few. Winning the silver medal at the 23U World Cup with such a great staff and bunch of players was a great achievement. Having the opportunity to coach with the Senior National team for the 2018 Japan series was also a huge honour. Being named Emerald’s manager in 2019 was also a huge honour as I believe it is a program, I can have an impact on in a positive manner.

 Sporting goals for 2023:

My goal for 2023 is to ensure that we prepare the team as best as we can and have the team finish in the top 2 in our group, so we qualify for the World Cup finals in Canada, 2024.

 Why do you play baseball?

I play baseball because I love to compete and  playing alongside a team who all have the same goal in winning. Baseball is a sport that challenges you more often then not which means you are constantly looking at ways to get better. I grew up alongside a baseball field with my Dad playing his whole life and fell in love with the sport from the time I could walk.

 Best baseball moment so far?

Individually - Debuting in my first Women's World Cup for Australia at the age of 15 in Canada 2012.

As a team - Winning a Bronze medal at the 2014 Women's World Cup in Japan.

 Sporting goals for 2023:

Win a national championship in Melbourne during the women's national event at Easter. Continue my journey in making the World Cup team who will be travelling to Japan later this year!

What does, or would, representing Australia mean to you?

Representing your country in your chosen sport means everything and if it doesn't mean everything to you, you aren't doing what it is you love.

 Why do you play baseball?

Baseball challenges me to get better everyday. It gives me opportunities to grow and develop as a person and lets me be part of a team.

 Best baseball moment so far?

I’m lucky enough to have many great baseball memories, one of which is winning nationals for the first time in 2018 with my sister playing for NSW, and pitching the final out with loaded bases to win the game.

 Sporting goals for 2023:

Win a national championship, represent Australia at the World Cup qualifier and enjoy playing the game I love, while controlling what I can control on and off the field.

What does, or would, representing Australia mean to you?

Playing for Australia means I get to play against the best players in the world which is a cool challenge. It also means I get to play with the best in Australia and be able to learn from them.

I've been playing baseball for 28 years and totally fell in love with the game and the lessons it teaches me every time I step on to the field.

My sporting goals are always to be at my best at completion time to help the team have success.

What does, or would, representing Australia mean to you?

Representing Australia for many years has been such a privilege and joy in my life and I hope I can do it again and in a way in which I can have a positive impact on the results and the team.

 Why do you play baseball?

Grew up watching my Dad play, started playing tee-ball with my brother from six years old, moved to baseball at age thirteen. Twenty-four years later and I still love this game.

 Best baseball moment so far?

Nationals 2010, in my rookie year - gold medal game against NSW, bottom of the 7th, down by one run, two out, two strikes - I hit the walk off double to win WA's first ever gold medal.

 Sporting goals for 2023:

To make the Australian Emeralds team for the 2023 World Cup group rounds, finish in the top two in our group and qualify for the finals stage in 2024.

What does, or would, representing Australia mean to you?

It means everything, it's my why, my motivation to keep on improving the baseball player I am every day. Any chance to put on that jersey and compete for my country at a World Cup is a feeling like nothing else.

 Why do you play baseball?

I play baseball because I love the challenge and the people within the sport. I enjoy training hard and always having something to aspire to and work towards. I also love the logistical side of the game and learning different philosophies from different coaches/players.

 Best baseball moment so far?

Winning gold in the U16 nationals was definitely a highlight along with pulling on the Aussie jersey for the first time at 16. The national championships of 2022 was also a favourite of mine with the competitiveness of the tournament after no national competitions for 2 years due to COVID.

 Sporting goals for 2023:

My main goal is to look after my body and ensure I don’t get injured, as well as smashing my gym goals to put myself in the best position to be able to hopefully represent Australia at the World Cup level this year.

What does, or would, representing Australia mean to you?

Representing Australia at the World Cup level would be a huge honour and has been a dream of mine since I started playing baseball at 8 years old. It has been a huge motivator for me, especially over the last few years. It has made me endeavour to try and be the hardest working person in the room at all times and to see that pay off would be incredible.
